About Caroline Reynolds

I was born in Northern Ireland and after 20+ years living in England in England now in Northern Ireland close to my family. I went to Queen’s University, Belfast where I earned a BSc BAgr in Mycology and Plant Pathology. I graduated in 1988 and went to England to work for ICI Agrochemicals as they were known then. This is where my flair for computers really developed. As an experimental scientist my work often involved presenting results, which was computer based and as it turned out I was a natural and quickly become the department Computer person.  This lead me to a career change down the IT road and several different roles until in 2004 I moved back to Ireland.

Photo of Caroline ReynoldsOur family all have a creative flair and as a kid I was taught to knit by my Grandpa. My mum is a great seamstress making clothes for us as kids, evening dresses as we got older and of course my wedding dress which was not any pattern but the best bits from about six. She had her own handmade craft stall for many years and now has her own rosette business. My sister’s flair is in the kitchen and she is an award winning chef.  When not creating with food, she is knitting, crocheting, cross stitching or making dog show leads.

I was a great knitter and cross stitcher but would never just knit to pattern.  My sweaters always had a pattern change or different finish. They just couldn’t be the same and that’s kind of my mentality when designing a website or advert. I try to make them all different although of course I have do my style which is simple and effect. I am a perfectionist and will spend time on the little things that matter like aligning boxes and retouching a photo or remove a lead!

I had my first email account in 1993, and I taught myself  HTML by reading source code on other sites and books and created my first website at a time when most online users were on AOL and Internet Explorer didn’t even exist. (Netscape, anyone?)

My first dog,  a clumber spaniel called Sophie was born in November 1990 and that is the start of my dog showing life and I have been successfully showing and occasionally breeding Clumber Spaniels and Mini Smooth Dachshunds since with many Champions crowned over the years. To promote my own dogs I created a website and then started designing  my own adverts. The rest is history as I then started creating websites for other people and then adverts and in 2004 moving back to Ireland I turned my hobby into a business and have been creating websites, adverts and more learning new skills with every project.

My web design and photoshop know-how is almost entirely self-taught. I think my knowledge is pretty good however I don’t know everything and don’t claim to know everything, but I am an eager learner, always looking to learn something new, to find new ways to achieve goals for both myself and my clients.
